About Elliott Rothman

The Experience Pomona Needs

Elliott’s commitment to public service led him to serve two terms as City Councilman for District #5 and two terms as Mayor of Pomona. During his leadership, he emphasizes a period when Pomona was thriving, beautiful, and successful—an era he is dedicated to restoring for future generations.

Meet Elliott

Elliott Rothman is a 67-year-old businessman and consultant who has proudly called Pomona home for more than four decades. A devoted husband, he is celebrating 40 years of marriage with his wife, Pam, and takes great pride in his family, which includes his son, Jason, and daughter-in-law, Stephanie, as well as his lovely granddaughter.

Elliott’s Education and Background

Elliott earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance. He also completed a graduate apprenticeship at Long Beach Naval Shipyard, building a strong foundation in both business and technical disciplines.

Elliott's Platform

The residents of Pomona dutifully pay their taxes, yet are constantly left asking where their money has gone. Streets all over Pomona are in desperate need of repair. Services have been cut or outsourced—including recent considerations to end the city’s contract with the Los Angeles County Fire Department. Thoughts of backroom deals and concerns of frivolous overspending come to mind when questions about how the city council plan to balance the city budget without raising taxes go unanswered.

We need a leader that can stand up and remind their colleagues that they have a fiscal responsibility to the taxpayers of Pomona. That leader is Elliott Rothman. He will never sacrifice your safety or standard of service for shortsighted savings.

Every day it seems that there is more and more distasteful activity happening on Holt Boulevard, while little is being done to slow or stop it. Even as many of the businesses along the Holt corridor either remain vacant or struggle to maintain their storefronts, “business” of a different kind has boomed. It needs to change.

Elliott believes that the residents and businesses of Pomona deserve better. When elected, he will lead the charge on the city council to bring the change we’ve wanted for over a decade. We did not have these problems when Elliott was in office. Let's vote him back in.

Elliott can remember when Pomona was booming with promise and opportunity. It’s time that someone brings back prosperity and gets more businesses to invest in Pomona. The amount of overgrown vacant lots and boarded up businesses that can be found all over the city are a glaring indication that not enough work is being done to make Pomona thrive.

With the near-constant threat of bankruptcy looming over the city, we need a champion to help balance the city’s budget. Elliott will be that champion for Pomona. He brought Target to Phillips Ranch, so he knows what needs to be done to help Pomona thrive.

Elliott will prioritize fire prevention, revitalize parks, green spaces and medians, and replant trees. The neglect of our hills and walkways has created a fire hazard. The property owners have taken pride in keeping their properties neat and clean of debris. But the surrounding unkept city property is affecting our property values.

We need strong leadership to keep us safe, clean up our neighborhoods, and make our area beautiful again. Elliott Rothman is that leader.

Homelessness is rampant throughout the entire city.  Our district is no different, if not worse. The complete failure of the city to address this problem in any meaningful fashion is a reflection of the current council.

We need someone on the city council with the experience and determination to address this problem with real action that produces results, not just talk. Elliott has done it before, and he will do it again, by bringing regional resources to Pomona.
